Anticipation Guide

An Anticipation Guide is a comprehension strategy that is used before reading to activate students' prior knowledge and build curiosity about a new topic. It can also be used to challenge or support their preconceived ideas about key concepts in the text.

Here is an example of one student's Anticipation Guide and her T-chart from a  Cat and Mouse (hunter vs. hunted) anticipation activity.
